What is NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme?
The Andhra Pradesh state government, which was established by the Telugu Desam Party, first introduced the NTR Bharosa plan in 2013. It holds the name of Shri Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao former AP Chief Minister and Telugu Film celebrity, and founder of the TDP party. Later, in 2019, the YSRCP party renamed this pension program as YSR pension Scheme to remember Shri YS Rajashekar Reddy, former chief minister and father of the then Chief minister of Shri YS Jagan Reddy. NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme Benefits (YSR Pension Kanuka)
Residents of Andhra Pradesh who fall under certain categories are eligible for pensions under the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme. From July 2024 onwards Government of Andhra Pradesh increased the payment of pensions.
Old Age Pension(OAP) : Those 60 years of age and older will receive 4,000 rupees each month.
CKDU/Dialysis Pensions : The people who suffer with CKDu or Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown etiology/ Unknown cause will receive the pension amount of 10,000 rupees per month. Kidney, heart transplant, liver, CKDU not on dialysis, CKD serum creatinine more than 5 mg, CKD small contracted kidney, people with CKD who undergoes dialysis will receive 10,000 rupees per month.
Widows Pension / Single Women Pension : Widows and single women would get 4,000 rupees per month under the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme, to help them become more independent and self-sufficient.
Weaver’s Pension : To uplift weavers, they will get 4000 rupees per month under YSR Pension Kanuka scheme / NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme.
Toddy Tappers Pension: Toddy Tappers meets the criteria to receive a monthly pension of 4000 rupees through the NTR pension program.
Disability Pension: Persons with disabled (Physically or Mentally) will receive a pension amount of 6000 rupees per month under this scheme and fully disabled persons will receive 10,000 rupees per month

Common Eligibility Criteria For All Categories
- In rural areas, a family’s monthly income should not exceed 10,000 rupees, while in urban areas, it should not exceed 12,000 rupees, totaling all sources of revenue.
- Less than three acres of wetland, less than ten acres of dry land, or ten acres of both wet and dry land combined should belong to the family.
- Families should not own four wheelers except for tractor, auto, taxis.
- Nobody in the family should be a pensioner or employed by the government.
- Whether a family stays in a rented home or own home, their monthly electricity usage should be less than 300 units.
- Applicant’s home built-up area should be less than 750 sq.ft.

NTR Rythu Bharosa Pension Eligibility by Category (YSR Pension Kanuka)
- ART (HIV) Pensions:
Six months of nonstop treatment in an ART (Antiretroviral Therapy) center. - Chronic Kidney Disease patients (Stage3,4 & 5) who are not on dialysis and are having the conditions given below: there is No age limit.
- a) Level of serum creatinine above 5 mg On a regular basis on two different times (at the government lab) separated by at least three months.
- b) Reduced kidney size (less than 8 cm) on sonographic examination
- c) Estimated GFR should be less than 15 ml.
- Dappu Artists Pension: The applicants must be below the poverty line and must be at least 50 years old or above.
- Dialysis Pension (CKDU):Monthly dialysis treatments are provided at public and private hospitals. Patients can begin treatment at any age.
- Disability Pension : Age is not a factor to receive a disability pension under NTR bharosa scheme, but disability should be 40% or above.
- Fishermen Pension: As Certified by the Department of Fisheries, applicants must be fifty years old under the fisherman category to get the benefits of fishermen pension .
- Old Age Pension : For ST category applicants, the age should be 50 years or above and other than ST category, age must be 60 years or above.
- For persons with diseases of Paralysis confining the person to a wheelchair or bed and Severe muscular dystrophy cases and accident victims confined to wheelchairs or beds: There is No age limit.
- Rural/Urban Single Women Pension: In rural areas, women should be separated from their husband after marriage or unmarried and 30 years old . In urban areas, minimum 35 years old.
- Toddy Tappers Pension : Toddy tappers should be members of Toddler Co-operative Societies (TCS) or a single tapper participating in the Tree For Tappers (TFT) Program and 50 years or above.
- Traditional Cobblers: Age must be 40 years or old under NTR bharosa pension scheme for cobblers.
- Transgender pension: Those who identify as transgender must be at least eighteen years old to receive transgender pension.
- Weavers Pension: Weavers who want to avail this scheme, they should be 50 years or above.
- Widow Pension : Widows must be at least eighteen years old and should have registered their marriage.
Application Process For NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme
- Step 1: The Grama(village/ward) volunteers will take the applications from eligible persons for NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme
- Step 2: Then Grama Volunteers will conduct the physical verification process (Social Audit) with respect to eligibility conditions prescribed for each category of live pension.
- Step 3: The Grama Volunteers will do the initial scrutiny of the applications, then forward them to Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) / Municipal Commissioner (MC).
- Step 4: The MPDO/MC reviews the application forwarded by Grama Volunteers and forwards the application to the Extension Officer (Panchayat Raj & Rural Development).
- Step 5: The E.O.(PR&RD) checks the application and makes the relevant remarks.
- Step 6: Then authorities prepare the social audit list or provisional eligibility list and re-verification list(reasons for not eligible) and publish it in all secretariats.
- Step 7: Applicants listed as ineligible in the re-verification list, they can raise their grievance and submit the required proofs.
- Step 8: After consideration of grievances from the citizens, authorities will make final list of eligible and in-eligible applicants in all secretariats
- Step 9: Still ineligible citizens can raise their grievance in the schemes portal from the final ineligible list if they have proper proof to show they are eligible.
- Step 10: The Volunteers take the acknowledgement from the beneficiaries for receipt of the payment using eKYC.
