What is Madhu Babu Pension Yojana
Madhu Babu Pension Scheme is created by merging two schemes namely Pension to Destitute Elderly people and Destitute disabled pensions. It came into effect from 1st January 2008 and was administered by the women and child development department of Odisha government.
The beneficiaries covered under old age pension scheme and Orissa pension scheme are treated as beneficiaries of Madhu Babu Pension Yojana.
Beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension amount, ranging from Rs. 1000 to Rs.1200 based on the age criteria under this scheme to utilize for daily expenses and live their life happily with hope.

- The eligible beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension amount of Rs. 1000 for age range of 60 to 79 years of old people and Rs. 1200 for 80 years and above.

Older people get messages on their phones once the money is deposited so that they will withdraw money from the banks immediately to use for the monthly expenses.

Eligibility Criteria of Madhu Babu Pension Yojana
- Elderly Citizens : The applicant should be 60 years and above as a basic eligibility
- Widow : Widow women’s with out any age restriction (WP)
- Leprosy Patients : Applicants must have visible form of deficiencies of at any age(CLP)
- Disability : Applicants unable to earn due to their disability such as being blind, orthopedically handicapped, mentally challenged, irrespective of age(DP)
- Widow (AIDS patients)(WP-AIDS) : Widow women’s with HIV positive irrespective age and income
- AIDS patients(DP-AIDS) : Applicants suffering from AIDS identified by District / State AIDS Control Societies without any age restrictions
- Family income must not exceed 24,000 rupees per annum certified by concerned tahsildar
- Applicants must domicile or permanent resident of Odisha state.
- Applicants must not be another pension holder of any other state or central pension scheme.
