Eligibility Conditions For Shikshan Sahay Yojana, Gujarat

  • The worker will be eligible for the benefits of this scheme beginning with the date of registration with the board as a construction worker.
  • Construction workers’ identity cards should be renewed every three years from the date of registration.
  • The construction worker must apply in the approved format and within the prescribed time frame.
  • Every academic year, applicants must submit their applications within three months of admission.
  • Along with the application, proof of admission to that educational institution, such as a certificate from the principal or an admit card, must be submitted.
  • For hostel admission, a certificate signed by the Rector/Warden of the relevant hostel/authorized person of the institution must be produced.
  • This help is available only to the children (up to 30 years old) and spouse (also up to 30 years old) of construction workers who have been admitted to government-recognized educational institutions, schools, or colleges.
  • Only two dependent children and the construction worker’s spouse (age restriction 30 years) will be eligible for support.
  • Construction children studying as external students in government-recognized institutes/colleges will also be eligible for educational assistance under current guidelines.
  • Children of construction workers enrolled in the National Institute of Open Schooling are also eligible for educational support.
  • A student who fails once during the academic year/semester will be eligible for this assistance the next year/semester for the same standard/class. Of course, this support will be limited to a single trial.
  • A second failure in the same standard/class will exclude the student from receiving re-aid.

Application Procedure for Shikshan Sahay Yojana, Gujarat

  • The required application form must be submitted for educational assistance within 90 days (or three months) of the session’s start date or the date of admission.
  • To be eligible for financial support, a registered construction worker must submit an application in Bidel form to the relevant Project Manager at Gujarat Building and other Construction Labor Welfare Boards in that district.
  • As stated in the sample application form, the construction worker’s application has to be accompanied by the Principal’s Certificate from the school, college, or other educational facility where his children are enrolled.
  • If one is admitted to the hostel, the certificate from the appropriate rector, warden, or hostel head must also be submitted in.
  • The construction worker must deliver his application to the above officer’s office together with the principal’s certificate.
  • Within 30 days after receiving the application, the project manager will validate and check the provided details and provide his recommendation. Applications exceeding Rs. 5000/-should be forwarded to the main office.
  • Applications for education support under Rs. 5,000 must be decided by the project manager by calling a committee into their district.
  • The concerned worker must be informed in writing of the reasons for the disapproval. The beneficiary may receive payment of Rs. 250/-by cash or check, which must be retrieved for payment, or the approved financial assistance may be placed into the construction worker’s bank or post office account.
